1. Information We Store Locally

Nestpane is designed to be a strictly local experience. When you use our extension, the following data is saved only on your device using Chrome's Local Storage API:

• Widget Preferences: Your layout choices, selected widgets, and color themes.
• To-Do Lists & Notes: Any text you input into the productivity widgets.
• Quick Links: URLs and names for your custom bookmark shortcuts.
• Location Coordinates: If you opt-in to the weather widget, your approximate location coordinates are saved locally to prevent repeated permission prompts.

This data never leaves your browser, is never transmitted to our servers, and is deleted completely if you uninstall the extension.

2. Permissions Requested

To function properly, Nestpane requires certain browser permissions. We are transparent about why we need them:

• Storage: Used to save your local preferences, widgets, and settings.
• Geolocation (Optional): Used solely by the Weather Widget to fetch local weather data. This is strictly opt-in.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We are proud to be a zero-data-collection extension. We do not collect or process:

• Your browsing history, search queries, or tabs.
• Personal identification information (PII) like names, emails, or IP addresses.
• Telemetry, usage analytics, or crash reports.
• Financial information.

4. Third-Party Services

Nestpane interacts with limited third-party services to provide specific widgets. These services have their own privacy policies:

• Weather API Providers: If you use the weather widget, your approximate location is sent directly to the weather provider to retrieve data.
• Search Engines: When you use the search bar, your query is sent directly to your selected search engine (e.g., Google, DuckDuckGo).

We do not act as a middleman for these requests; your browser communicates directly with these services.

5. Children's Information

Nestpane does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. As we do not collect data at all, we do not require parental consent. If you believe your child has provided information to us through the extension (e.g., typing a name into a to-do list), rest assured it is stored only on their local machine and never sent to us.

6. Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Because Nestpane does not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no data for us to delete or export on your behalf. You have complete control over your data. To exercise your right to deletion or modification:

• To Delete: Simply uninstall the Nestpane extension, or use the "Reset to Default" button inside the extension's settings.
• To Export: You can manually copy your to-do lists and bookmarks from the UI.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
